The cooperation with the inHaus innovation center can be primarily defined via joint research and development activities with Fraunhofer institutes and inHaus partner companies. There are the following inHaus partner categories:
System Partners, Component Partners, Application Partners and Sponsors.

System Partners

Companies and institutions which represent a comprehensive and very important technology segment and/or product and /or subsystem segment in the inHaus center. A system partnership involves a middle-term R&D budget of at least 1 m Euros and a corresponding R&D-roadmap in cooperation with the Fraunhofer institutes of the inHaus syndicate. They close a basic cooperation contract and possess extensive PR rights and rights of use concerning the inHaus facilities. System partners co-manage the inHaus center via the inHaus management council and they co-finance the running expenses of the inHaus center.

Component Partners

Companies and institutions which non-exclusively represent a smaller or middle technology segment and/or a smaller or middle product and/or subsystem segment in the inHaus center. Component partnerships involve inHaus R&D activities in cooperation with the Fraunhofer institutes of the inHaus syndicate. Component partners close a basic cooperation contract including a R&D-roadmap with a middle-term R&D outline budget. Component partners co-finance the running expenses of the inHaus center depending on their turnover. They are able to take part in all inHaus projects optionally and possess extensive PR rights and rights of use concerning the inHaus facilities. Moreover, a component partnership includes the opportunity of participation via the inHaus advisory council.

Application Partners

inHaus application partners are usually operating authorities of institutions belonging to the application areas living, office, hospital, nursing home and conference hotel.
Application partners of the inHaus center represent the demand side; the latter has to be distinguished from the suppliers which research and develop new technological solutions and test and demonstrate these solutions in the inHaus research facilities. In this way, the interplay between the development, application and evaluation of technology is implemented, which is important for technology partners.
Application partners define the requirements concerning the technological innovations from the point of view of the demand side in order to achieve optimizations regarding the business and application processes, which is one of the principal objects of the project. Application partners acquire and coordinate further partners in order to develop and operate the respective application laboratories in inHaus2.
They possess extensive PR rights and rights of use concerning the inHaus facility and they co-finance the running expenses of the inHaus center. They do not have R&D obligations.

Sponsors

Sponsors do not take stock in R&D and do not have R&D obligations but provide services or products for the inHaus center free of charge. In return they acquire PR rights and rights of use concerning the inHaus facilities.
